Will my subscription renew from the 1st of the month or from the date I join?
Your subscription will run from the date you join and will renew on the same date the month after or quarterly depending on which subscription plan you choose.
How much money will I need to start?
Ideally you will need a minimum bankroll of 50pts, this means you will be able to comfortably absorb any losing runs during your time on the service. For example, If you’re betting at £10 per point you will need a £500 bank. If you can't manage a 50pt bank (£500), we would advise some caution when joining the service although being organised and disciplined will help if joining with a 30-40pt bank, with a view to building up to a 75-100pt base bankroll. We recommend an absolute minimum of £5 per point when starting, as we want your subs to be covered, ideally with some profits on top.
How much money is one point (1pt)?
As touched on above 1pt is a % of your overall betting bank, for example, if you start the service with £1,000 and you need a 50pt bank as advised then your 1pt stake is £20. Alternatively you can view your £1,000 as a 100pt bank and your stake would then be £10 per point. This is a personal choice based on what you can individually afford but please gamble responsibly. Essentially, 1pt = whatever your chosen stake is.
How does the points system work?
Using a points system is the easiest and most professional way to keep track of your profit/loss and we keep it as plain and simple as possible. Each selection within the channel will be allocated a points value, this could be 1pt win, 1pt E/W or 0.5pts E/W. Being disciplined within this simple staking plan is essential to getting the best value from the service over time. If you bet to £10 point, then 0.5pt E/w will be a £5 E/w bet for you.
What does E/W mean?
An Each Way (E/W) bet is basically two bets - one bet is for the horse to win, the other bet is for the horse to place. Because this is two bets, you will receive a return on the bet if the selection wins and also if it places. The E/W part of the best will always be at a fraction of the odds you have taken, usually 1/4 or 1/5 and the amount of places being offered for each race will depend on the amount of horses running in that race although some bookmakers have extra places on offer daily.
Are your tips mostly E/W?
Yes, maybe a 80/20 split in favour of us having more each way bets than win bets, E/W betting is a valuable tool to have and forms a vital part of obtaining profit not only from a race or a day but also over time. Bookmakers can offer favourable place terms especially on Saturdays when racing can be most competitive. This is the best time to use an each way bet to exploit the place terms on offer.
I have seen the term BOG used in the Mainline service, what does this mean?
Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) is a term used within the industry to offer a promotion on each race, if you place your bet with BOG and it wins you will be paid out at best odds, for example if you place a bet with BOG at 5/1 and the bet wins at 10/1 you will be paid out at the bigger odds. Please note each bookmaker has different times of the day when they offer BOG so be sure to read the terms and conditions of your chosen betting account.
What time do you normally post your tips?
This is something we put to a members vote once or twice a year but as things stand selections are put out the night before racing usually between 6.30pm - 7.30pm. Sometimes this may alter depending on the racing/prices on offer but 70-80% of the time they will be posted the night before. Sometimes, we need to wait until the next morning in the 8-10am range to see a price movement go in our favour.
How many tips do you post per day?
This can change depending on what racing we have at our disposal, at times the service can go 3-4 days without a selection, other days usually towards the weekend we can have 8-9-10 selections. If we can't find an angle into a race or don't see any possible profit from the day, then we will leave the racing well alone and bide our time. This approach has been shown to be profitable for the service long term. In a nutshell, we play to the racing that’s on and will not post selections for the sake of it.
Will I get an explanation for the tips?
Yes, we will always give brief notes or reasoning as to why we feel our selections will do well, sometimes this is by text under each selection or during busier times it may be the morning after selections via a voice note or member podcast to provide a full, detailed preview of the day.
What kind of prices can I expect to get?
We have no set rule here but the Mainline service prides itself on finding profit within the mid to high price brackets. That’s not to say we won't have the odd 3/1 winning selection but we often find value in unpopular horses at bigger prices all the way up to 100/1. In January 2024, we had an E/w selection at 100/1 which finished a close 3rd, which paid the same as a 16/1 winner. We are renowned for hitting big prices and all of our results are publicly available.
Can I see your results?
Yes of course, we’re a professional service that’s run with honesty and integrity. All of our results are publicly available here Turn Of Foot Racing Results and this is updated on a regular basis.
How are Mainline results recorded?
Our results are recorded with overall balance in mind at all times, as different nuances and situations arise, to give a fair and accurate reflection of the performance of the Mainline. Most selections hold their price or shorten during the time leading up to the race, and these will be recorded at the advised price at the time of the selection.
Some horses may drift in the market and become available at much bigger odds throughout the day, these selections usually will be recorded at SP. To combat these drifts we always advise our members to “top up” when they see the drift happening.
You can do this a couple of ways. By holding back 1/2 or 1/4 of your proposed stake and using it the next day when BOG becomes available, or simply by backing the horse just before the off at bigger prices to make up the potential difference in winnings. Some members choose to put their full stake on when the selection is advised and others may leave the drift completely but in these circumstances it’s up to our members to be flexible, savvy and responsible when using this approach.
Bare in mind, a lot of selections will drift again mid-morning, before hardening back in before the off. It pays to take a minute here and there to check things on your phone.
It also works the other way. If we publish a price of say 20/1 and it’s available with two or more firms online (which is our minimum for price quoting), but the price collapses quicker than ideal, we will often change the price in the spreadsheet to 16/1 or 14/1 for example, to reflect a more balanced and fair price that was more widely available for longer. Most premium services will not do this.
For us, it’s all about balance and fairness to give a solid understanding of our ongoing performance. Obviously, there is only so much we can control, which is why we regularly discuss the importance of being organised and engaged, in order to get the most out of our advice over time.
What if I don't get the advised prices?
We will never advise a price on a selection that isn't available in at least two or more places (bookmakers). This is an honest way of advising selections and gives our members the best possible chance of gaining the advised prices. If the advised price at those bookmakers disappears within five or so minutes then the selection (win or lose) will be altered to show a fair reflection of the price when advised. We will usually note this in the channel via text or voice note to make our members aware of the change. On top of this we always advise our members to have as many bookmaker accounts as possible and to get yourself organised to obtain the best possible prices.
Additionally, if you’re completely late to the party for whatever reason and a 6/1 E/w bet is now 7/2, there are 2-3 things you can do. 1) Leave the bet alone completely and see if it drifts late 2) Take your medicine and bet the horse to the same stakes and E/w anyway, with the insurance of BOG or 3) Just reduce your stakes by half or even 3/4s, place a token bet “to win” so you still have some involvement in the race, and be more organised for next time.
Which betting accounts are best to use?
All of them, as many as you can get your hands on, the industry is changing all the time so you need to be dynamic in getting yourself organised with as many betting accounts as possible. As of October 2023 over 202 sportsbooks were available to use online. Start off with a good five or more accounts and spread your 50pt bank across them in order to keep yourself organised and ready for when the selections go out.
I only have one betting account, will that be enough?
No, bookmakers are wise and that one betting account will be restricted or shut down within weeks. As above you need multiple accounts so you can not only shop around for the best prices but so you can give one a break and use another one at any given time. The aim here is to keep the bookmaker guessing and to prolong the life on your accounts the best way possible.
Can I cancel my subscription at anytime?
Yes, you can simply end your direct debit subscription via your online bank or if using Paypal you can end your monthly payment via the Paypal site. If you cancel during a month, your subscription will not end until your due date, this means you will always get the full month you have paid for. It is always best to cancel directly in the Telegram bot rather than cancelling a direct debit or cancelling directly on PayPal.
What if I have technical issues whilst using the service?
Issues with the service or Telegram app are very rare, however we are always available to be contacted privately via message or by email at Turnoffootracing@gmail.com and we will endeavour to sort out any issues as soon as possible.
What’s the difference between the Mainline service and the Lite channel?
The Mainline service is our flagship service and has been built to obtain steady profit over time. This approach has been proven to be successful under both codes (Flat and Jumps) and anybody who is organised and disciplined can benefit from the service. It isn’t a get rich quick scheme, more of a fun and informative side hustle.
We believe the Mainline is the best premium racing advisory service in the UK & Ireland and work hard to maintain the highest standards possible.
The Lite channel is a new service which aims to find shorter priced winners and offer some fun long term bets at smaller stakes (“ante post” bets). The Lite channel is £9.99 a month and is a good introduction into how a betting service works, it will get you used to the Telegram app as well as placing your bets with an online bookmaker. We don’t keep a P/L for the Lite channel and it is more geared toward small stakes fun. But it is also excellent value for the price, compared to others who charge way more for short priced horses.
